JANE V. MCKENNA

Jane​ V. McKenna teaches self-defense to women, seniors and, students. 

 

In college, she successfully fought off a serial rapist. Having avoided great harm, she works to help others keep safe and build confidence.

 

For a decade, she has taught her physical skills and mental attitude to women, girls, seniors, high school students and anyone else who wants to learn to avoid and deal with trouble.

Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics, with a Minor in Criminology, from the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland. She previously lived in the Washington, DC metro area.

STREET FIGHTER TRAINING

(various forms). Jane mixes no-nonsense street fighting with martial arts.

FIRST DEGREE BLACK BELT IN KARATE 

from the Gary Fookes Institute of Tae Kwon Do. Jane began her training with Master Fookes who studied under the world famous Jhoon Rhee. Jhoon Rhee was a student of the great Bruce Lee. Jane continues in the style of these Masters, her mentors.

BOARD CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER AND CERTIFIED WEIGHT LOSS SPECIALIST 

through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Has run 14 New York City Marathons and one Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC. Certified Weight Loss Specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

CANE MASTER

under the Cane Masters® System of Self-Defense. Member of the Cane Masters International Association (CMIA). Jane teaches self-defense using a cane for both fitness and defense. Jane received her Black Belt in the Cane Masters System of Self-Defense.
